Steven Samuels focuses his practice on patent litigation, patent procurement, and licensing. An electrical engineer by training, he represents companies in the fields of electronics, computer hardware and software, digital and analog communications, electrical power transmission and business methods.
Steve originally joined the firm in 1992. Subsequently, he left the firm for three years to serve as Assistant General Counsel, Patents and Technology, at Unisys Corporation. Steve's ability to give sound advice to clients is also enhanced by his litigation experience. He was part of a team of Woodcock Washburn lawyers who, following a seven-day jury trial in a patent infringement case, won a $22.3 million award for Elster Electricity, a leading provider of electricity metering solutions, based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
